The 11th Invited Talk Session is coming up, and we have a very special guest speaker for you!

🗓️ On Thursday, 7 December, at 6:00 p.m., the Jean Monnet Chair in Risk and Crisis Communication Management in the European Union will host Mr. Kostas Lagouvardos for an online lecture on “Natural disasters and early warning systems”.

👩🏼‍💻 The lecture will be moderated by Amalia Triantafyllidou, Professor of the Department of Communication and Digital Media, University of Western Macedonia.

Kostas Lagouvardos is a physicist-meteorologist and Research Director at the National Observatory of Athens. He holds a PhD in Meteorology from the University of Paris VI, France. For the last 30 years, he has been studying severe weather phenomena aiming for better and more valid forecasting. In collaboration with the Municipalities and Regions of the country, he has designed and implemented a series of early warning systems. He is the creator of the website meteo.gr, while for the last 2 years he has been participating in the collective effort of climatebook.gr in order to inform citizens about climate change and its consequences.
