“Renew & Rise: Climate Action and Fair Energy Policies” Summer School Kicks Off
From July 1st to 25th, 2025, students from the United States and Greece are participating in a summer school that brings to the forefront the topics of Just Transition, climate change and their connection to modern energy policy.
The summer school is taking place in the city of Kozani, while field visits and cultural excursions will be held in areas of environmental interest, in Kastoria, Amyntaio, Grevena, Thessaloniki, and Halkidiki.
The Centre of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning (C.CE.LL.) of the University of Western Macedonia has undertaken the administrative coordination of the programme, in collaboration with College Year Athens (CYA).
The scientific planning and coordination are overseen by the Institute of Energy Development and Transition in the Post-Lignite Era and the Energy Transition and Development Transformation Laboratory (ENTRA Lab) of the University of Western Macedonia.
Participants were warmly welcomed by Professor Eleni Griva, Vice Rector for International Relations, Global Engagement and Student Affairs and Associate Professor Lefteris Topaloglou, the scientific coordinator of the summer school.
