An educational initiative aimed at raising awareness among first-year undergraduate students on Children’s Rights was held on Monday, 15 December 2025, within the framework of the undergraduate course “Pedagogy,” taught by Assistant Professor Menelaos Tzifopoulos.
The students were introduced to the articles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, participating in collaborative activities, writing their own texts and discussing the significance of the Convention in contemporary education. This experiential approach encouraged critical thinking and active engagement among the students.
The initiative was implemented as part of the activities of the Child Rights Centre, established at the University of Western Macedonia in collaboration with UNICEF.
Professor Eleni Griva, Vice Rector for International Relations, Global Engagement and Student Affairs is the Institutional Coordinator of the Centre, while Assistant Professor Evmorfia Kipouropoulou is the Adademic Coordinator.
